Silver Birch, winning the Grand National a few weeks ago. I don't know what you think about horseracing but I watched it (dragged sister and friends into it too) and that was a brave horse. What a test of heart.

painted as a reward to myself for finishing a lot of coursework..just one day to go! reference used from the bbc who televised the race. was interesting to draw, I didn't want to have a turf-and-rail background. I almost didn't have a jockey and tack and just drew Silver alone, but then I remembered how happy he was and I wanted it realistic, so here the partnership is in all its glory.
