Artist's Comments

Title (cause I couldn't think of a REAL one) is a quote I read in Valiant and I can't remember who by but its part of a poem.

Just practicing humans, still, I was going to make it full length then decided I didn't like her face and left it at this. No particular reference (but I was looking at VERY well-made corsets (I want to design some clothes because there aren't enough good ones in the world yet) before I drew it, that was what inspired me) aaaaand photoshop and tablet aaand I don't know how long because I kept changing my mind about it, and then I reached the end of my ability and stopped. :P

Critique encouraged, not because I am going to do any more to it but because I know there are flaws and I want to improve!

Nice work. All Photoshop and tablet?? Amazing. One thing wrong with this picture:

You have the upper part of her left arm too small. The elbow should be a little lower down the side---you see there---- the slight bend in the arm that shows where the elbow should be---- it's too high. If you stand up and look at where that bend is, it is about mid stomach area. You have the bend right below her boobage. :nod:

That's all really. You did a nice job with the light and shadows and her face. She kinda looks like the singer Michelle Branch!! :D

One poem the title line is from is from The Last Unicorn. It's got several stanzas throughout the book. I have no idea if that's the poem you're thinking of, though. :laughing:

Really nice piece! The details in the necklace are amazing, and you've certainly captured a mood. The fact that she is placed in the center is sort of counteracted by the heavy darkness--that side feels weighter, which is a nice balance, I think.

My favourite part is the necklace and the corset :D And yes, other than the bit about the upper arm, I can't really see anything else
